BARREL ELECTROPLATING
It is the most economical means to electroplate manufactured parts to specific requirements, including corrosion resistance and electrical properties. The barrel plating method had its origins post-Civil War. The earliest electroplating units were made of wood which was the most highly available non-conductive material. Wood, however, posed problems with rapid deterioration and solution absorption. After World War II plastic became available and made barrel plating much easier and far more efficient. VR Ind utilizes rotary barrels with straight bars or danglers for anodes, depending on the geometry of the parts being plated. We have various size units that can be used based on part volume. The majority of parts coming to VR Ind are plated in this manner. Below are finishes which includes Palladium, palladium-Nickel

What is Palladium Plating?
Palladium may be a valuable with numerous properties that make it a superb choice of plating material, especially within the automotive and electronics industries. SPC has developed a palladium plating process that reliably provides a high-quality coating for various components and products. Palladium may be a natural element with the chemical symbol Pd and therefore the number 46. it’s the smallest amount dense and has rock bottom freezing point of the six platinum metals. it’s also a valuable and shares many characteristics with the opposite metals therein group. it’s a soft metal known for its semi-bright, silvery-blue appearance, also as its rarity and freezing point . It makes a superb catalyst and component of alloys.
Characteristics of Palladium Plating: As mentioned within the above section, palladium is straightforward to acknowledge thanks to its somewhat bright, silver-blue appearance, its rarity and its low freezing point . it’s a density of 12 grams per cubic centimeters, a freezing point of two ,830.6 degrees Fahrenheit and a boiling point of 5,365 degrees Fahrenheit. Platinum is soft and malleable when annealed, and cold-working can increase its strength and hardness. Perhaps palladium’s most original property is its ability to soak up hydrogen in amounts of up to 900 times its volume. Hydrogen diffuses through heated palladium, which purifies and separates the gas.
